kiaiokalewa Posted April 26, 2024 #1 Posted April 26, 2024 Once again way outside my element on this type of stuff ask me about Interwar Army we can definitely have a conversation. DIRK help!!!
kiaiokalewa Posted April 26, 2024 Author #3 Posted April 26, 2024 It looked like some sort of badge was on the O.D. wool lined cap.
warguy Posted April 26, 2024 #5 Posted April 26, 2024 The campaign hat is an army version with five stitch brim someone has added a late WWII ega and officers cords. The muskrat hat is also army. Marines wore them also early in China around turn of the century but my bet is those are late Indian war period army. Both look US made. Definitely not the later Chinese made ones worn with diamond.
kiaiokalewa Posted April 26, 2024 Author #6 Posted April 26, 2024 Cool info on the muskrat caps. I'll post them in the Indian War section here shortly. Thanks for the heads up on the campaign hat configuration/insignia.
warguy Posted April 26, 2024 #7 Posted April 26, 2024 You are welcome. The red chintz lining on the one muskrat was kind of a second version to the polished cotton quilted lining which was typically earlier. Good luck!
kiaiokalewa Posted April 27, 2024 Author #8 Posted April 27, 2024 Have an answer on the time frame on the muskrat caps.
kiaiokalewa Posted May 20, 2024 Author #9 Posted May 20, 2024 Technically interwar but usually considered WWI
kiaiokalewa Posted February 28, 2025 Author #10 Posted February 28, 2025 I'm guessing that these are interwar related.
kiaiokalewa Posted February 28, 2025 Author #11 Posted February 28, 2025 And maybe these not so much?
KurtA Posted February 28, 2025 #13 Posted February 28, 2025 All the militaria in your photos is great, but what I really like is that distinctive blue Hawaiian sky visible in a couple of your photos!
kiaiokalewa Posted February 28, 2025 Author #14 Posted February 28, 2025 Thanks Kurt. I should had taken the pixs a little higher that way you could see the panoramic view from the Arizona Memorial to the west end of the Wainena Range. Aloha, John
