Chateau Thierry where my mom’s uncle went missing in action is just a few klicks away. Anyway my wife and I were given a personal tour of the Chapel of the Missing where just over 1000 Soldiers  and Marines are commemorated. It was cold IMG_0681.jpeg.6865d0c399b91db6442b25bdde536feb.jpegIMG_0680.jpeg.81de9609bad95f0947e7f7cf2ddaf277.jpegIMG_0679.jpeg.86c75a361c4e9bc26f7fe063b8d25c9c.jpegIMG_0714.jpeg.7c61f8c259f830ebb512cc93e0d19533.jpegIMG_0713.jpeg.c8371b349fe1922a321f69afc2a10f5b.jpegIMG_0712.jpeg.acd24cc8920058d0ac4b9fdd66098f6d.jpegIMG_0711.jpeg.2ce518969df73881f3df63e2acc9596d.jpegIMG_0714.jpeg.7c61f8c259f830ebb512cc93e0d19533.jpegIMG_0709.jpeg.648d00859acfe8c75312e1127f3637ac.jpegIMG_0703.jpeg.9bee24fb2f9bac15dd1d168b68cb7167.jpegIMG_0702.jpeg.7a2a3777ca87724c6f5493943cf41e3b.jpegIMG_0701.jpeg.2d92493a766c56739afc79e85b0d85c5.jpegIMG_0700.jpeg.e467d9e066966fd6204ecef10cf792e5.jpegIMG_0699.jpeg.ae82c93342235768b30d3d8b36d9b5e8.jpegIMG_0698.jpeg.d7deb07d4dd94855f18cd25871eb4487.jpegIMG_0709.jpeg.648d00859acfe8c75312e1127f3637ac.jpegIMG_0708.jpeg.05ae4dae051e65bc7768b08581fe0c47.jpegIMG_0700.jpeg.e467d9e066966fd6204ecef10cf792e5.jpegIMG_0699.jpeg.ae82c93342235768b30d3d8b36d9b5e8.jpegIMG_0710.jpeg.d79092333d7907bdd1cc523685d3b3e5.jpegIMG_0697.jpeg.6fe90c277d63f750ee35fe7ed40f32a1.jpegIMG_0696.jpeg.b90b250134899008828a8f8c6e2d7481.jpegIMG_0695.jpeg.6b64b8910613d01e7c1ccf8a8843e395.jpegIMG_0693.jpeg.76e97c8f878edb0435da937e2414906c.jpegIMG_0692.jpeg.97cc43cc5dc2175e6a98401d0cb44254.jpegIMG_0691.jpeg.8233a262a560d84e7ebac50c71520f00.jpegIMG_0690.jpeg.09e795ed6534fde93381655ca351b652.jpegIMG_0689.jpeg.23c4fa9441f1b4030a2dcdbc556f3065.jpegIMG_0688.jpeg.a85067204aaf795e7b2fefb834bb6593.jpegIMG_0687.jpeg.24f9679b949eb7d4e6caeee4da79966e.jpegbut the landscape shows spring renewal as you can see in the photos.  The site is administered by a lovely French woman who I suppose is employed by the American Battle Monuments commission.  It looks to me they are doing a wonderful job honoring our fallen servicemen. From time to time they uncover remains out on the battlefield which stretches over many miles. When they do they place a mark  to the left of his name in the chapel.
