Teamski Posted April 12, 2024 #1 Posted April 12, 2024 Hey guys, Have you seen this before? I haven't. I found the rank on the right at an antique shop this last week in M1952 colors of OD on blue. I take it that this was a error patch. Thoughts? -Ski
KurtA Posted April 12, 2024 #2 Posted April 12, 2024 I haven’t seen one of those before. Probably some manufacturer confusion during the period of the chevron change. That was an excellent find.
Teamski Posted April 12, 2024 Author #3 Posted April 12, 2024 I was stunned when I found it. At first I thought it was subdued but then I brought it up to the light and sure enough, it was OD on blue. You never know what you are going to find..... -Ski

I agree that this may have been from a sample run before the producer loaded the gold-colored thread and AG44 background cloth in the embroidery machine. If so, this chevron would be very rare.
cavcon Posted May 28, 2024 #7 Posted May 28, 2024 I have seen photos of that before. I also thought that maybe it was produced as a sample or before the AG uniform or specialist ranks were adopted. Pretty cool!
