Here's a neat conversation piece I just picked up that I hope fits this category. Its a bronze paperweight representing "U-boat" UB-88  made from salvaged bronze from the torpedo tubes. Please delete this thread or move it if it is not appropriate for this forum or section.

 

UB-88 was credited with sinking 14 ships and was surrendered to the US after the 1918 armistice. She then toured the US on a exhibition cruise traveling the east coast, up & down the Mississippi river, then through the Panama Canal, and up the west coast as far as Seattle. She was then ported in Los Angeles where she was stripped of useable material and sunk for target practice by the US Navy where she lays to this day approximately 7 miles off the LA coast. In 1921, a farewell ball was hosted at the Hotel Virginia in Long Beach California honoring Captain Shackford's relievement as the commander of the Submarine Division 6 where these miniature sub souvenirs were given to each guest.

Very cool, probably not a lot of those around.  Wonder if any were donated to the scrap drive in WWII...
