JCBrownABNPFDR Posted April 1, 2024 #1 Posted April 1, 2024 Just recently I have stumbled across 2 USMC green uniform jackets with only one PFC stripe sewn to the left sleeve. When I found the first jacket, I simply assumed that the other stripe had been removed. When I found the second jacket I decided to investigate. After turning the sleeves inside out, I discovered that there had never been a PFC stripe sewn to the right sleeve. No ghosting, no signs of stitching, nothing. Does anyone know why this would be? There is no ghosting for shoulder blazes or discharge diamonds, either. I did locate a blaze in the inside pocket of the one I bought that had never been sewn on.
themick Posted April 1, 2024 #2 Posted April 1, 2024 A September 9, 1942 order mandated that USMC chevrons would be worn only on the left sleeve. (Source: National Geographic Magazine, June, 1943, p. 705) So, your blouse is quite correct. Steve
