Saginaw M1 carbine with history

Note provenance unless it’s a sea story. I’m hoping it’s right and is an early Saginaw anyways

Nice looking Carbine, would be interesting if the story is true.  The Carbine itself looks good, love the high wood stocks and early feature guns.  Years ago way before the movie Band Of Brothers, I had a M1A1 stock with 4 notches on the lower front of the stock and Wild Bill on the left side.
