1950's USAF Seat-Kit Pic

Hey Fellas, here's a pic of a seat-kit from Popular Mechanics. An educated guess would be mid 50's. Was unaware the USAF used the K-22 for survival purposes.

What about the time frame of the Popular Science magazine image being in the late 1940s at the earliest due to the white parachute webbing and the taller Mk 13 night/day flares being shown ?
