nagmashdriver Posted March 18, 2024 #1 Posted March 18, 2024 I have a safety strap for the tailgate of a military truck, measures just over 6 feet in length by 2-1/4 inches in width. Weight is four pounds. There are no markings whatsoever, except for the manufacturer's stamp on the snap hoods; an anchor with a line/chain around it. My question is: most, if not all American straps had a "ST-XXX" for "Strap-catalog # X". This has no markings whatsoever. Is it still American? If so, how would I know pre-war from WWII from post-war? Looking forward to hearing from you!
blitz67 Posted February 24 #2 Posted February 24 I’m not sure that is US made, the webbing appears to not be IS military issue. I know stripes in webbing denote tensile strength but I have had a few tailgate straps and have been er seen one with red stripes.
