Loulounug Posted March 12, 2024 #1 Posted March 12, 2024 Dear Members I'm pretty new to the US / USMC camo used in Vietnam and , looking foward to get a nice patched ERDL uniform. Here is one that is one sale : Sellers version : Quote What I can guarantee is the tunic is genuine U.S. military issue and was made in 1969, and all the patches are genuine U.S. Military issue, chest patches are from the 1970's. The shoulder sleeve patches have that brownish OD typical of what the U.S. used in the 80's/90's, same goes for the infantry collar insignia. The Captain collar insignia is from the 1970's. The CIB, wings & branch/name tapes all shown signs of shrinkage, they have been part of this jacket for some time. Not assembled during the Vietnam War, more late 1970's issued, field repairs are genuine soldier repairs May I get some opinions about it ? Thanks in advance Louis.
FT.Monmouth1943 Posted March 12, 2024 #2 Posted March 12, 2024 I do not like this piece. Looks like it was recently put together with a mix of late and post war patches. The lack of any pinching of the patches, considering g how used this jacket is, is a major red flag.
Loulounug Posted March 12, 2024 Author #3 Posted March 12, 2024 Thanks Monmouth for the reply I was curious about why a 1969 jacket did get 1970's and 1980's patchs on it ... I will pass it 👍 (My wallet will thanks you because it was 200 dollars) Louis.

There should be patch "puckering" if the insignia had been on for a long time.
Loulounug Posted March 13, 2024 Author #5 Posted March 13, 2024 Thanks for the confirmation As said earlied I will pass on it and look arround and keept in mind to notice patch puckering 👍 Louis
