Intrepid Posted March 2, 2024 #1 Posted March 2, 2024 Trench art? I’m thinking more like trench utilitarian. My father crafted this lamp while stationed aboard the USS Intrepid CV-11 in the WWII era. I recently restored it and updated the wiring, switch and bulb socket. Base = 5”/38 Caliber MKV shell, manufactured 9-1935 Main Tube = 40mm Bofors, manufactured 2-1945 Perimeter = .30-06 SPRG anti-aircraft/armor piercing
GWS Posted March 3, 2024 #2 Posted March 3, 2024 Nicely made and attractive family heirloom. You're fortunate to have such a cool piece of you family's history. Thanks for showing it. Steve
Charlie Flick Posted March 5, 2024 #4 Posted March 5, 2024 That's a great piece. Glad to hear that you brought it back to life. Charlie
