Kilroy56 Posted February 28, 2024 #1 Posted February 28, 2024 Dear Forum, Should these be regarded as WW2 period wings ? Thank you, Dominique
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2024 #2 Posted February 28, 2024 They look like they were taken off a WW2 US Navy Pilots tunic. Stars came from the cuffs. Not 100% positive but thats what I think they are.
Kilroy56 Posted February 28, 2024 Author #4 Posted February 28, 2024 Inputs much appreciated. Thank you Gentlemen ! Dominique
pfrost Posted February 28, 2024 #5 Posted February 28, 2024 Those are very handsome wings, but there probably isn't a fool proof way of knowing (other than keeping the fools away) when they were made. Could be WWII, could be KW could even be later. To my knowledge there is much more art than science with bullion wings. That being said, they are lovely wings and I wouldn't quibble too much as to their age. Its your collection, you can decide! You don't need us to tell you! LOL. P
The Rooster Posted February 28, 2024 #6 Posted February 28, 2024 I think they definitely came off a Navy Dark Blue uniform. Due to the color of the backing. Yours pretty much match these.
