Survival Posted February 21, 2024 #1 Posted February 21, 2024 Some sort of switch I imagine. Can be locked down in both positions. Thanks in advance.
Salvage Sailor Posted February 22, 2024 #2 Posted February 22, 2024 NAVAL ORDNANCE AND GUNNERY, VOLUME 2, CHAPTER 30 ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATIONS Chapter 30.B Communications Section 30B16. Signal systems 5. Intraturret emergency alarm. The intraturret emergency alarm is an independent circuit used to issue warning of danger or of serious casualties in a turret. It consists of a number of small electrically driven sirens which can be set in operation from any one of several stations in the turret. The Turret Officer’s booth has a switch for silencing the sirens after they have been set off.

aerialbridge Posted February 22, 2024 #4 Posted February 22, 2024 Very cool item. If the turret alarm goes off in the dark, make sure your batteries are charged in your battle lantern.

Cadet74 Posted April 25 #6 Posted April 25 Hi, Got one last week! I found pix from USS Iowa showing contact makers. I have alarm bell shown new in box from ‘44!
Cadet74 Posted April 25 #7 Posted April 25 Hi again, Would you know the designation for WWII Submarine star shape contact maker “collision alarm” and “ general alarm”? I know diving alarm is M-VII. Also other than if they have a recessed hole to lock switch in on position, are they electrically different internally? Many thanks.
