LE LOUP DES MERS Posted February 12 Share #1 Posted February 12 More of a random topic, but I'm looking for ways to display vintage brass knuckles/1918 knuckle handguards (just the 1918 handguard not the whole knife so basically the blade is missing). Any ideas one would suggest on a good way to display such item? I thought about getting those small acrylic display stands for paintings but I don't know if that would work. eaglerunner88 Posted May 8 Share #2 Posted May 8 It would be cool to find a poseable mannequin hand to make a fist around them!
LE LOUP DES MERS Posted May 8 Author Share #3 Posted May 8 That would be cool but also kinda creepy just seeing a hand in a display case as you wake up lol. Something like this could work ones cast iron from Etsy the other is wood from Amazon both are about $20. Actually the cast iron hand may work pretty well now that I am thinking about at it. LE LOUP DES MERS Posted May 8 Author Share #4 Posted May 8 If you got the space a hand isn't a bad idea but that being said trying to display more then one on the same shelf might be a little hard with some kind of small acrylic display stand you'd be able to display more without taking up to much room. digi-shots Posted May 8 Share #5 Posted May 8 How many do you have, and is it an ongoing search? This might determine how much room you need. You could get some small pieces of acrylic or plexiglass and cut them into the shape of an actual blade and insert into a handle. You could then place them randomly on a flat surface or make a full knife display with handle and plexiglass blade. They sell knife displays that hold multiple knives. Some ready made displays are in clear plexiglass… so you could use a dark smoked plexiglass for the blade. Just remember the blade side will bear most of the weight and might tip over depending how you set it. Something like this will show what the handle is for and also put more emphasize on handle and not necessarily the whole knife.

digi-shots Posted May 8 Share #8 Posted May 8 Here’s an acrylic stand with a pair of regular knuckles… doesn’t look good at all.. it would be a lot better just lying on a flat surface ( which is how I have them). It could be that your knuckle guards would look better… and you could read the maker name and date I think it might be more fun designing acrylic knives
LE LOUP DES MERS Posted May 9 Author Share #9 Posted May 9 where does one find this stand? if you turn around the knuckles around, I think it would look better for display then displaying it on the finger grooves.
digi-shots Posted May 11 Share #10 Posted May 11 You can search online for plastic, plexiglass, acrylic display/stands…. Temu.com has them listed Some craft stores also carry them.
lmrobil Posted May 14 Share #11 Posted May 14 Ebay and Amazon also have them. Be careful, some are quite small and may not work for you. .Lance
