Thrifter_01 Posted February 7, 2024 #1 Posted February 7, 2024 Found in a large 35mm slide grouping. Appears to be a blue football helmet, with a Special Forces patch visible on the man's shirt. The slide is dated to 1962.
SGM (ret.) Posted February 19, 2024 #2 Posted February 19, 2024 Early HALO (freefall) rig for sure. Possibly snaps taken from a GABRIAL DEMOMSTRATION at Ft. Bragg, NC. However, the white flag with the red bottom boarder looks like a CA state flag, so the location could have some association with CA. The tree line in the background doesn't suggest any sort of desert or high-desert location, though. The state flag(s) might have just been decoration and recognition of the VIPs attending the "dog and pony show" and may have nothing to do the actual location of the photos (i.e. the Congressional delegation from the "great state of..."). Great photos!
