Uniforms of the Day Posted January 24, 2024 #1 Posted January 24, 2024 This little Rosette is made by Bsiley Banks & Biddle. It came in a box of mixed items from a husband and, I think, his wife. The man served as a Captain and Major on the Mexican Border and in WWI, in the field artillery. I do not think he was overseas during WWI. He also served in the ETO during WWII. It appears that a relative, possibly his wife, served in the ETO with the Red Cross. I am assuming it is his, but???This lapel rosette has me stumped. It is probably a foreign order. But I thought maybe I would get lucky with the wisdom that abounds here! Thanks for any help.
jmpmstr Posted February 5, 2025 #2 Posted February 5, 2025 I'll search foreign orders etc but immediately is reminiscent of Scabbard and Blade Society ribbon bar colors
JohnK83882 Posted February 5, 2025 #3 Posted February 5, 2025 I know the Sons of the American Revolution had one very similar to that. Google rosette lapel button. This one is close. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156250334915 Here's an Alibaba listing showing ribbons and their corresponding rosettes. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-French-Rosettes-Supplier-Custom-Vietnam_1700001582776.html The state Mexican border service ribbons have red and blue in them. A possibility. https://www.ebay.com/itm/306052111812

My thinking is its the Scabbard and Blade Society witch is a military organization. It's also the correct colors for it.
Spartan19 Posted February 5, 2025 #6 Posted February 5, 2025 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scabbard_and_Blade?wprov=sfla1 Here's a picture of the old style ribbon bar used by the Scabbard and Blade Society not exactly sure when they stopped using this design. But this design was definitely around during Ww2 and possible even during or after Ww1.
