Hi Folks:  I am trying to locate my Great Uncle’s WWI Purple Heart award card.  I’ve researched Ancestry.com etc. and I can’t locate. As a child, I recall visiting my great uncle’s home in Cambridge, Mass. and when you entered his home on the mantle was his Purple Heart metal in a glass case.  He was a Sergeant in the 26th Infantry Division in  a Machine Gun unit.  I recall he was “gassed”.  I don’t know what happened to the medal which is probably somewhere.  His name:  CARL EDGAR NILSON

Any and all assistance would be appreciated.  Thank you
