willysmb44 Posted January 2, 2024 #1 Posted January 2, 2024 Has anyone got one of these and mounted it onto a real Tommy gun lower? If so, any opinions?
willysmb44 Posted January 2, 2024 Author #2 Posted January 2, 2024 This is what I'm talking about. I'm wanting to know how well they work.
Guest Historic Artillery Posted February 29, 2024 #3 Posted February 29, 2024 I mounted one to a Doug Richardson M1A1 complete kit which is a "real Tommy gun lower" Mounted directly with no modifications needed. Worked fine except for some inconsistent blank ammo issues. These seem to be not as much of an issue now.
willysmb44 Posted June 4, 2024 Author #4 Posted June 4, 2024 I have it off at a gunsmith right now to remedy one incorrectly milled hole and to attach the sights (Indy Ord won't do that, I asked). Can't wait to fire the thing, even though I haven't done a "shooting blanks" event in many years...
72psb Posted June 4, 2024 #5 Posted June 4, 2024 My department had two of the real thing. (Former USMC) What a gas to shoot when you do not have to pay for the ammo. I can see your attraction to it.
willysmb44 Posted June 28, 2025 Author #6 Posted June 28, 2025 Just got mine back from a long trip across the country to a class III gunsmith. I haven't shot it yet but the gunsmith burned up 100 blanks through it and he said he got it tuned well. I dont shoot much as there are no public ranges around here to shoot stuff, but for the 4th of July I might put a magazine through it. Couldn't resist putting it with my solid reciever 28A1 display gun... It'll make a great display at my group's next show.
