Does anyone have a copy or photo if the initial Medal of Honor citation/ certificate. The initial was around 1918 with a three line valor lines using the words

' Valor, next line "above and Beyond the call of duty in actions involving" next line Actual conflict with an enemy of the united States ". or a post 1918-27 Medal of Honor citation/certificate with the 3 lines being condensed  to 1 line"most distinguished gallantry in Action"

Any help or images wwould be greatly appreciated

What an amazing and rare document, S!  I would love if it resides in a private collection but thanks for showing us what must be, arguably, one of the rarest of documents regarding a US military award out there.  Outstanding.  I do find it interesting that the description for such a award is so vague and void of detailed information opposed to later awards of the MoH that clearly spell out the actions for which such a high award was granted.

Brian, thank you, sadly not in my possession. It is striking in the simplicity of it but commands your attention for the same reasons and the gravity of the feats. I've been looking through older posts and chiming in, particularly on ones that never got an answer. Found this one on line today
