Castle_Keep Posted November 25, 2023 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2023 Please bear with me…I posted this tribute using my iphone😅. The DFC & AM were awarded to TSgt Lee E. Chesterfield. He reportedly logged more flight time during WWII than any other enlisted flyer in the 11th Air Force…and died in a horrific (company owned) plane crash in 1946. TSgt Chesterfield was on top of the world...actively pursing a post war aviation dream...until his aircraft encountered an ominous fog bank. His bright (white hot) future was snuffed out in a snap.
