Here is a preview of Lawrence Douglas Taylor’s World War Two combat uniforms. I acquired everything he kept throughout his military career until his retirement in 1972. He retired as a Lt. Colonel. This is some of the stuff from the group. I apologize for the photos as I took them on my iPhone. I was too excited not to share immediately. I will get better photos with some of his paperwork soon.

Thursday I think I will spend the day photographing. So I'll have photos of all his ww2 stuff at least. There are some Vietnam uniforms to show as well when he was a Lt. Colonel. And mountains of paperwork he kept.

He knew what to grab that’s for sure.

Just an amazing collection that I wish was mine.

He seemed to stick to luft/fallschirmjager or SS items. There is one SS helmet that got away, but I’m trying to get it back to the group as that is where it belongs!

Oh, and the liner is a Westinghouse. It has his last name Taylor written on the sweatband. I forgot to take a photo of it.

There is no soutache (piping) on the SS cap....These were discontinued in 1942 and the ones that had them were supposed to be removed per regulations....The G33/40 is nice and even has the correct bolt as some were brought home with a K98k type instead...Bodes

You are correct, I was too quick to post and didn’t look well enough before posted. Still a fantastic group..,reminds me of vet buys in the 70s and 80s which still proves, lots of great stuff in the “woods” yet.
