Uniforms of the Day Posted November 4, 2023 #1 Posted November 4, 2023 Sadly, this has staining on one sleeve and one side of the button flap. But I just don't find these in the wild, so I grabbed it. One main flap button and one pocket button are gone. The rest are here. Named inside to "C.A. BENSON". The buttons are Horstman, Phila. I was just hoping to get confirmation that this is indeed a SAW period jacket. Thanks
warguy Posted November 4, 2023 #2 Posted November 4, 2023 I don't think it is Span Am War, I believe it is a P1912 USMC summer pattern. Good luck.
warguy Posted November 4, 2023 #3 Posted November 4, 2023 Here is a good discussion on the SAW/Philippine Marine jacket-I have been beat up a bit for using the term “tunic”. A good thread regardless,
Uniforms of the Day Posted November 5, 2023 Author #4 Posted November 5, 2023 Thanks. I read through that discussiin. Interesting. But there are just too many nuances for me to try to guess what mine is. I appreciate your input warguy. That's helpful!
