The mentioned Luger is a WW2 Battlefield trophy taken in combat by SGT Anthony Dighiera. Military receipts are on file with this weapon.  It has a date on the top stamped 1920 and all the markings referenced by GermanDaggers.com.
DWM Production 1900-1922
The story goes; As Sgt Dighiera was clearing out a town, a German officer stepped out from a building to fire this luger at Sgt Dighiera. It misfired and Sgt Dighiera then killed the German officer with his M-1 Garand rifle. He then claimed that Luger.

Sgt Tony J. Dighiera was in the 302nd Infantry regiment of the 94th Division. He entered combat  Sept 1944 via the beachhead at Normandy.

Tony Dighiera was my father in law.  He sent many items home using morter and artty round tubes.  Almost all of it was sold over the years for extra needed income.

The holster was not with the luger at the time of capture. I purchased it at a Gun Show at a later date. It is a pebble finish, Pig Skin, with the German Eagle and Swastika imprinted on the back part of the flap.

Pictured are two receipts for this weapon from the U.S.Army, 1945 as war trophies.

Great looking set, but the history behind the Luger makes it a significant family heirloom. Glad you still have it. Thanks for sharing.
