Belgian liberation flower

I have had this little crepe paper flower in the colors of the Belgian flag hanging around for years.  I figured it probably had something to do with the liberation of Belgium brought home by a U.S. serviceman.  My suspicions were confirmed when I just came across a video, here is a still shot.  Although the order of the colors is different in the period photo it is no doubt the same thing.  I thought it was kind of a cool little find, thanks for checking it out!
