Hawaii Landfill WW2 Dog Tag

Hello. I dug this up in one of the old landfills servicing the Honolulu area during WW2. Lots of USQMC plates and other military items but this was the most interesting. Very corroded and fire-damaged. Sorry to ask but I don't know how to look up this dog tag. I believe it belongs to a "William Christner" of Phoebus (now a part of Hampton) Virginia. His number is 6999638 which is 7 digits instead of the usual 8? Thanks in advance.

His service number denotes a pre war enlistment.  In 1939 he was attached to the 70th Coast Artillery:
