Early War Trench Art (North Africa)

Most trench art I find in antique stores I normally pass on but it always pays to pick it up an give them a once over. On this occasion I’m glad I did, not sure I’ve seen many items from the North African campaign. The shell is a 1942 head stamp dated 57mm. Interesting piece of early trench art.

That is interesting! Even though I live in the heart of the 34th land here in southern Minnesota and have seen plenty of material surface here from Red  Bull vets, don’t ever think I have seen any trench art in those groups from Operation Torch👍
