AEF BG and Colonel M1917 helmets

I’m in need of help with any information such as possible websites, pictures, books on the 5th Corps in WW1.  I call myself a decent researcher but I’ve hit every wall imaginable.
The helmets are still in the research phase and I hope to be able to ID them to the same  Officer.
I believe and it’s the consensus of others with a good probability that the helmets are from the same guy that decided to keep the Colonel helmet and have a BG helmet made after he received his promotion.

One helmet has a “War Eagle” Colonel insignia on the front with the 5th Corps insignia on the side. 
The other helmet has a one BG  star attached to the front and a larger 5th Corps insignia on the opposite side.

The 5th Corps  was involved in 3 battle Campaigns during WW1.
