I just picked up a set of INSIGNIA from what looks to have been removed
from an 1898 Khaki Officer's Uniform,
I think this because of the 1898 shoulder strap "UP-Wing Eagles"

Group ALSO
Includes Staff Buttons and a set of Major "Black" Staff Color Shoulder boards, not shown.
He was
Head Surgeon Major M.R. Keeley H.Q. 5th Illinois Volunteer Infantry 1898
2 year service

I would like to pick up a set of SHOULDER STRAPS to place the Button/Eagle/Rank
on, Should give a better example of what it looked liked when worn

My Question is What COLOR  strap should I look for
Sky Blue "Infantry" ?, White "Infantry" ? Black "Staff" or the Emerald Green "Medical" ?

Illinois, U.S., Databases of Illinois Veterans Index

Name: Milton R Keeley
Rank: Surgeon
War Years: 1898
Company: Headquarters
Unit: 5th Illinois Infantry

I went with HOME MADE Medical EMERALD Green but thinking I should of gone
with the STAFF BLACK ?

Made the 1898 KHAKI blouse using a Re-Purposed Hardware Carry Bag
for the Emerald Green, Joann's Fabric Store for 1 yard of the Khaki
total cost 20.00 with the Frame, Material and Thread.

  How did I do

Thats 20.00 for display Cost, not counting the cost of the group

Also looks like I need to add sleeves to the lower side edge areas

Very nicely done!

Thanks, the result was better than expected. it started with the collar and took
off from there. This always happens when Buttons are part of the Group. I have a problem
always wanting to INCLUDE all the items :)

Do you limit the size of the groups you acquire so that they fit a certain criteria?

I have not limited my self to size
Although I dont collect Uniforms (but have some :)) so that keeps the size
under control

My Chuck Older display is Multiple Frames :) along with a Large Silk Banner that
I am still working on a way to display without the thread of damage ?

  Its a process for me
1 something catches my interest
2 I look at all the items on a table for a few days, arranged in different ways
3 after that I have a picture in my head but that changes as the process
continues so NO idea or criteria. Once I start doing research other ideas
start to form BUT Thats the fun for me The Process

Thanks for your Like I never know as I am a bit biased :)
