Colonel's PASGT Helmet

This helmet I recently got from a source in Ohio. It is named to a Colonel and I'm assuming this means it belonged to Congressional candidate Rich Iott.

Rich Iott-Food Town CEO, Reenactor, OHMR

I'm only assuming it is his given the origin and relatively unusual last name, rank, and when it would have been used. The helmet band is no longer elastic and is stretched out. I'm betting the helmet was repainted as the inside is very uniform in color and does not show the fibers as other PASGT helmets I have do.

Overall, an interesting piece, even if it never left the Midwest.

That's definitely an "I". Good lid. Typical mid 80's until they changed to what ever lid they used with the ACU's.

Looks like IOTT not LOTT.  Are you thinking I or L?  Scott

Iott as in I not L. I'm assuming 5806 is the last four of his SS#?
