Big Iron Posted August 14, 2023 #1 Posted August 14, 2023 This helmet I recently got from a source in Ohio. It is named to a Colonel and I'm assuming this means it belonged to Congressional candidate Rich Iott. Rich Iott-Food Town CEO, Reenactor, OHMR I'm only assuming it is his given the origin and relatively unusual last name, rank, and when it would have been used. The helmet band is no longer elastic and is stretched out. I'm betting the helmet was repainted as the inside is very uniform in color and does not show the fibers as other PASGT helmets I have do. Overall, an interesting piece, even if it never left the Midwest.
ScottG Posted August 14, 2023 #2 Posted August 14, 2023 Looks like IOTT not LOTT. Are you thinking I or L? Scott
easterneagle87 Posted August 14, 2023 #3 Posted August 14, 2023 That's definitely an "I". Good lid. Typical mid 80's until they changed to what ever lid they used with the ACU's.

The joke use to be that whoever stole it would at least know who they took it from. Things changed and CIF cracked down and charged you for writing your name on TA50 and other items…making it “unserviceable” they said.
