Is this a real Marine Corps patch?

I bought a bunch of patches; most were original, some were iffy.

 

Is this an authentic patch? It's bullion so it wouldn't be an issue patch (I don't think), but I don't know how to tell it's age or if it's even a period piece.

Sorry but the purple colored paper backing is classic Pakistani manufacture as well as the double bullion border.
