Is this an authentic Vietnam Era Ammo Metal Box?

Is this an authentic Vietnam Era Ammo Metal Box? And if not is it just a fake or from another era? I cannot find a clear definition to decipher the numbers. Thanks.

Considering the government didn't start using bar codes until the 1980s, I would say no.

The bar code is from an Army/Navy surplus store that sold many vintage military items. That in itself would not be a guarantee of the original date. My husband purchased this as a Vietnam Era case....but I was never sure.

The ammunition in it was packed by Lake City in 1985. LC-85 xxx. So, no, it is not Vietnam era.
