navyman Posted February 11, 2013 Share #34 Posted February 11, 2013 Kurt, Very nice!!! Here a enlist nap pilot uniform to Wilson W Sheehan. I send for his records but they did not give me a whole lot of paper work because he was into the 60's, I have a plaque and his 60's flight helmet. He died in the late 60's, never did find out if it was military related or not. The navy rate,, I took notice there is extra material sewn behind the shield of the rating badge and the shield has a camera look to it.
subsystem4 Posted February 11, 2013 Share #35 Posted February 11, 2013 Here is another one out of the closet . This one was worn by an ARM3c flying missions over the Bay of Biscay with VPB-103. He took a bullion " Chiefs Rate" and made a 3rd class rate out of it. There probably was a Combat Aircrew wing on this at one time, but it is missing. Kurt Wow great Jumper. My Grandfather was a A0M1c in VPB-103. He was a waist gunner. All his stuff was lost in a flood when I was a little kid.

Accourding to some papers I got back from NARA he was working as an aircraft mechanic for Panair in Brazil when ww2 broke out. Looks like they recalled him into active duty as a aircraft mechanic.
