FT.Monmouth1943 Posted June 16, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2023 I know nothing about Japanese swords but figured I’d take a chance on this one. It says on the card that it is a ceremonial sword from Kyoto Japan, but I have no idea how accurate that is. On the back is the name of the person who brought it in who supposedly served in WWII, but I’m having trouble researching him. Sadly the historical society who this was donated to did a lot of damage to it, they also inscribed an inventory number into it, and repainted it in an attempt to restore it. I’ll probably strip the paint off with goof off to reveal the wood underneath and take off the handle to see if there are any signatures. Overall though I’m pretty happy with the find, and if anyone has any information on this sword I would be very interested in learning more about it. - Jakob
