I picked this up at a local antique shop from a booth which oddly had common items priced to the moon and a very affordable price on this piece.  As you can see, this was made for a soldier in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (the famed "Black Horse" regiment) who was based in Fulda, West Germany during the Cold War.  (I've always loved the craftsmanship on Germany souvenir items like this.)

I like that. Nothing screams “Cold War” more than the 11th Cav at Fulda- the “speed bump” to start WW3.

Don served with the 11th ACR in Vietnam and is the Historian for our 11th Cav Reunions.
