Marktk36thIL Posted June 3 Share #1 Posted June 3 ID disc of Cpl. Lawrence Loyd. He enlisted at the age of 22 in 1861 into Co. I, 57th New York Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 8/19/1864 at New York, NY. Ironically, he was wounded almost a year to the day later in 1863. He was listed as: * Wounded 7/1/1862 Malvern Hill, VA * Wounded 7/2/1863 Gettysburg, PA The 57th was on the right flank of Zook's counterattack to push Kershaw's South Carolinians out of the Wheatfield before being outflanked by Woffard's Georgians, forcing the men of the Empire State to retreat. Currently fielding offers from my asking price, and I need to reach out to a couple Gburg guys and those focused on higher end pieces.
USCapturephotos Posted June 5 Share #7 Posted June 5 Thanks Mark. I like Id discs, inscribed corps badges etc. My brother also collects Id discs. I didn’t actually see a price. What are you asking? Thanks. Paul
