I an trying to figure out what exactly this is but I thought it was a pilots life vest but I have not been able to find it in any books can anybody fill me in more or direct me to a website that tells more about it?

Here's one dated Dec. 1972, with the same spec. no. but it's marked "Property U.S.A.F."
