Acadien359 Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Share #1 Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Here's one I've had for a while that's somewhat of a mystery to me. It's a standard design Army Air Forces officer collar insignia, gilt brass wings with separately applied sliver prop, and straight pin with U-shaped closed face catch on back. As can be seen, it's slightly larger than the standard wartime size insignia [1 1/2 and 1 1/8 inches wide, respectively]. Maker marked LAMODE on back. In my opinion, it's too well made to be a sweetheart pin--possibly a pre-war piece, or maybe a cap badge for Aviation Cadet overseas caps? Looking forward to hearing other suggestions.
