Formed in Sydney in 1895, the Company has been a leading name in Australian jewellery ever since and has continued to enjoy a reputation for consistently high quality, value and service. It remained owned or partly owned by Coote family members for 111 years until December 2006 when it sold its holdings and brand assets to rival James Pascoe in a successful takeover bid.

I was doing a little background research on Angus & Coote and found a couple of interesting wartime ads from a magazine called the "Pacific Islands Monthly".  This first one from September 1942 is interesting as it talks about them having to curtail production of jewelry, silverplate and many other goods.  It doesn't specifically say anything about military insignia and that may have been exempted but still an interesting ad showing the impact of wartime restrictions.
