Ruckup Posted May 25 Share #1 Posted May 25 Came into this small WWII German Medal Horde at the bottom of a box of personal affects of a family friend that past. Her father was in the 82nd Airborne and Jumped in Normandy and Market Garden. I’m no medal expert but have been told they are all fake, “ post war the family travelled the world and collected EVERYTHING “. Fake or Real I’m keeping them and displaying with His helmet. CIB is real. Enjoy

The 2 campaign shields also appear to be post war.
Kurt Barickman Posted May 25 Share #3 Posted May 25 Yes unfortunately all the German items are reproductions. Kurt

manayunkman Posted May 25 Share #10 Posted May 25 If you look at the two pin posts you see that they have a small round area, where they are affixed to the badge, making them look like a nail. In WW2 these posts were soldered on without that round platform.

All CIB clutch backs "war-time" or "post-war" have the small head on the clutch pin. I dont know who started that myth but perhaps someone who had poor eyesight. In some examples the solder does cover the head....but its there. If you have an example of a CIB clutch back with no head on the pin please post. Longbranch Posted May 31 Share #24 Posted May 31 Camera is not a WW2 model. It’s an early 1950s Leica IIIf. Looks like it has a 5cm f2.0 Summitar lens mounted, which was one of the most popular thread-mount Leica lenses at that time. Great camera and still fairly valuable. Be careful cleaning the lens surfaces… the glass and coatings were very soft on these and tended to scratch very easily.
