Josh B. Posted May 25 Share #1 Posted May 25 Hi all, This group surfaced at a local estate sale. The veterans name is beautifully engraved on the back of his General Blair Missouri No 1 GAR post badge. The depth and quality of the badge strike is incredible. Sgt. W T Menaugh passed away in 1895, so all items are pre-1900. He is buried a few miles of here… he served as Mo Post No 1 Chaplin until his death. Josh B. Posted June 3 Author Share #2 Posted June 3 Of note, I just found tiny hallmarks on the two Missouri badges identifying the E. Jaccard Jewelry Co. as the manufacturer. The Jaccard family of jewelers of St Louis once ran one of the most celebrated jewelry firms in the US, explaining the outstanding quality of both badges. I could not find any other GAR items by them on the net… I’m curious if anyone else has found any.
SARGE Posted June 3 Share #3 Posted June 3 A great grouping of a Missouri veteran. I love the individualized Blair Post cap insignia.
