Len S Posted May 18, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 18, 2023 I recently acquired a German pistol rig. The interior of the holster’s flap has a black ink stamp of what looks like a letter followed by -5499. I’m assuming it’s something done by a GI since I’ve never seen a Hun marking like this. Can anyone confirm my guess ( or shoot it down in flames)? Thanks, Len
VMI88 Posted May 18, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 18, 2023 Looks like it was done with a GI's laundry marking stamp: last initial followed by the last four of his service number.

Blacksmith Posted May 18, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 18, 2023 Looks like a “G-5499”, bit there also looks to be a name scratched into the leather below it. “Neil…”?
