Civil War Ordnance Corp button value help

Recommended Posts

I have these buttons from my dad's collection and I have someone interested in the two Ordnance Corps buttons. I've seen recent auctions for buttons that are fully intact, but these are missing most of the backs, one has the middle dented in, and the other has a slight crease dent in it. I'm not sure what to ask for these. The two buttons are in the middle. Even if someone didn't know exact value, even something like "they'd be worth X percentage of an intact button" would help me out. Any help would be appreciated as these are outside of my CW knowledge!

Yeah missing the backs definitely impacts value greatly. Take a look at this site. William Leigh is one of the most respected Civil War button dealers and he has several styles of ordnance buttons for sale. That is a start for you.
