M1917 Shell stamp

Just wondering if the stamp on this thing is normal. The numbers/letters are widely spaced apart, which isn't something I've seen before. 

 

Looks like:     F    H     4    7

 

The F is so faint I'm not sure about it, and the H might also be a P because it's missing a leg, which is strange because otherwise it's a clear stamp. 

Most of the stamps I've seen aren't spaced this widely.

It's ZH.  The spacing is pretty typical for them, as are the rounded ends on the chinstrap loop retainers.
