I hope this type of post is allowed here, but if not, please remove it.

I'm doing some genealogy research and came across a relative's Final Pay Worksheet from 1946. I'm hoping someone can confirm that the 5-17 is his separation code. I'm also hoping to learn if there's any other valuable information from the document that might help me continue my research.

If the 5-17 is indeed the separation code, does anyone know what the language of it might have been in 1946? Based on a little research, I've found multiple versions of AR 635-200 from a few different years, and the language of 5-17 seems to change in every one, if it even exists at all. A 1974 version lists 5-17 as "[r]eserve component personnel ordered to ADT under Reserve Enlistment Program." 1982 doesn't list 5-17 at all, only going to 5-14. 2009 lists 5-17 as "other designated physical or mental conditions," which seems to be the consensus for what it means when I did a brief Google search. However, the current version of 635-200 again only goes to 5-14, with "other designated physical or mental conditions" now falling under that chapter.

Am I just extremely confused, or has the language really changed that much over the years? Does anyone know if the 1946 version of AR 635-200 exists digitally anywhere? I've attached the Final Pay Worksheet as a reference.

Thanks for any help.
