xxSarge Posted April 15, 2023 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2023 Recently, I have seen this picture make the rounds through several pages on Facebook and the craze everyone is making a fuss over is the way this soldier is carrying his rations. It is a neat idea and there are several photos that show such a practice being done by a plethora of soldiers. That aside, I would like to point out a couple things for appreciation in this picture. I have no information on who, what, where, when on this picture. If anyone has details on this photo, would love to hear it. 1. Rations (that’s a given) 2. Removed one of the suspender straps?? (One looks to be cut off, same can most likely be said about the other side) 3. Rifle grenade with the M7 launcher attached to the grenade. (Great idea to carry the launcher ready to fire while not on the rifle. Can’t recall seeing another photo with this practice pictured. Like most things, I’m sure that he, along with a thousand other guys, did the same thing.) 4. Kerr Sling on M1 Garand (There are several photos showing this sling on a variety of weapons in WWII pictures. Being universally associated with the Thompson in WWII and mostly Model 1917s of WWI, its awesome to see this sling used in every capacity of American Forces in combat.) (Let me know if this isn’t the right board such a post. Ill make the changes for later pictures of interest)
