usmedalman Posted April 12, 2023 #1 Posted April 12, 2023 I am wondering if any USMC experts out there can help identify the time period when the designation, Sergeant of Marines, was used. Was this always the official way a sergeant rank was listed in records? I have often seen officers listed in this manner, i.e. Captain of Marines, but have never seen it used in conjunction with sergeants or privates.
