Noelle Posted April 11 Share #1 Posted April 11 https://cafriseabove.org/wasp_artifact/visit-to-the-wasp-archives/ Photo #20, at Texas Woman’s University. There’s supposedly one at the EAA museum near Oshkosh, correct? Although the two pins look different. TWU is reputable, as is the EAA museum, so I’m just curious about this. bschwartz Posted April 11 Share #2 Posted April 11 Just to clarify as I'm the one who took the photo of the Amico boxed WASP wing at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh. As Patrick points out in the original thread, these are two different things. The wing at the EAA Museum may just be a Josten wing stored in an Amico box. It appears to be pin back but it's hard to tell as it's in a display case and you can't get very good photos of it. Using the old medical diagnosis theory of "look for horses, not for unicorns" it is highly likely that Patrick is correct. It's a standard issue Josten wing that someone just stored in an Amico box they had laying around. I still haven't found anyone at the museum who is willing to let me photograph the back of the wing but if I do I will post the results here. But it is definitely not an applied lozenge wing as displayed in the photo above.

Being up 28 hours and counting causes that. 😁 The darkness around the bottom half of the lozenge looked like it was flat, making the lozenge look applied. Upon making the pic bigger, I can see that it’s just a shadow. I found the other one while looking for a pic of the back of a uniform.
