bryang Posted April 6, 2023 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2023 I received this awesome grouping in the mail today from a fellow forum member, and I'm extremely pleased to have it. This small box was sent home by First Sergeant Frederick F Husch to New York from Europe. I haven't found out anything of him, nor his wartime and post-wartime service, other than that he passed away in 1984 at age 65. My primary interest were the flag and bayonet - with the capture paperwork. However, this box contains a treasure trove of personal photographs, several posing with destroyed/captured German aircraft, as well as engineer documents related to German mines. There is a lot going on with this grouping, however as this is the Spoils of War posting, I'll keep it brief.
sundance Posted April 6, 2023 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2023 Very nice, find especially with the capture papers. He seemed to have a fascination with shot up German planes. I take it the paratrooper knife was nowhere to be found.
USCapturephotos Posted April 6, 2023 Share #3 Posted April 6, 2023 Very nice grouping. I was tempted as well when he listed it. Glad that it found a good home. So nice to see it all together and with the capture photos to boot! Paul
