A-1E Skyraider Seat

Hi Group,

Here's another recent addition to the collection, sort of an impulse buy since I'd never seen one for sale before - a seat from a USN A-1E Skyraider!  It looks pretty complete, I'm assuming it's missing a head rest of some sort?  As for what goes in the bucket, one of the tags mentions the PK-2 pararaft kit.  I see that flighthelmet.com has some empty ones for sale.  This would have been filled with survival gear and used as the bottom seat cushion?  Did navy crews of this era wear a backpack type chute with the Skyraider?  I'm mostly familiar with the USAF BA series, I don't know much about USN chutes...  Love to see some period photos of these seats if anyone has any or can point me in the right direction (the newer Steve Ginter A-1 series of books?).

Here's some photos, thanks for looking!

That's a killer seat...I'm guessing the switch is for the vertical adjustment ?...

the USN 1950s/60s seat type parachute is relatively common and should be easy to source...easier than a Skyraider seat!!  Nice
