VMF(N) 542 Patch

About a month or so ago, I was able to get this mint night fighter squadron patch from member  here. (thanks  ocsfollowme) It was likely discussed in the past but I decided to share it. since the Okinawa campaign in which they fought is approaching on April 1

If you EVER come across this aga i would forever be grateful.  My died when Iwas 18 - 43 years ago. He joined the Marine Corps at 17. Needless to say he didn't talk much at all - did know he served with Leo Nomellini, but even that didn't mean anything until I have recently learned what that meant. He was a member of VMF (n) 542 night fighter squadron. i can trace him to the Western Carolines, Chimu Airfield and Okinawa.  i am trying to retrace his service, putting together a shadow box. I have requested his medals.  i purchased the VMF 542 patch, but his was this one.  Have the squadron "yearbook"with that tiger.  So many things lost over the years.  so many reasons I wish i could turn back time.
