wartimecollectables.com Posted March 20, 2023 #1 Posted March 20, 2023 First one I remember seeing. Haven't researched the recipient. Victory medal didn't come with it, used to show size.. Motto reads GLORIA VICTORIBUS. Googling that pulls up French and Italian WWI Service medals but can't find this one.
KurtA Posted March 20, 2023 #2 Posted March 20, 2023 Andrew- i’ve never seen it either. Seems to me to be some sort of high quality private purchase item that a vet could buy. References “my” service. Not “for” service. I’m probably reading into that too much, but might mean it wasn’t presented to him by an organization.
swag Posted March 20, 2023 #3 Posted March 20, 2023 I think Kurt is correct. I've seen similar coins for WW1 and Mexican border service. Not many though.
aactionjim Posted April 8 #4 Posted April 8 Hello. I got one of these and looks to be well worn. Wish I knew who had it.
